On Consideration of the Lords Amendments to the Fire Services Bill
Lords Amendment No. 2
(a)*Line 6, at end add 'or enables an action in tort on the ground only that it contravenes a statutory duty imposed by an order made under this Act, which would affect the possibility of mediation, conciliation or arbitration.'.

(b)*Line 6, at end add 'or enables the local authority fire service employers to impede the possibility of a reference to mediation, conciliation or arbitration by pursuing an action in tort on the ground only of contravention of a statutory duty imposed by an order made under this Act.'.
(c)*Line 6, at end add 'or reduce the protection provided to the Fire Brigades Union by reason of Part V of the Trade Union and Labour Relations (Consolidation) Act 1992 (c.52)'.
(d)*Line 6, at end add 'or places any additional duty upon the Fire Brigades Union which is actionable in tort'.
