Letter to the Parliamentary Commissioner
for Standards from Digby Brown, solicitors
We act on behalf of Suzanne Hilliard.
We understand that following upon your meeting with
her on 7 April, a draft transcript of the meeting was forwarded
to her. This was returned by Ms Hilliard along with clarification
of certain matters, and a request that any further queries be
directed to the MPs involved, due to her impending Finals exams.
Despite this request, we understand that you have
sent further correspondence to our client, culminating this week
with a recorded delivery letter, and a further letter demanding
information by return.
Our client finds this extremely distracting during
what is a particularly demanding period of her life. This is especially
the case given that she has provided you with as full information
as she can, and has been extremely co-operative throughout.
Consequently, on behalf of our client we formally
ask you to desist from contacting her until at least the conclusion
of her exam period. If you wish to enter into any further correspondence,
then please do with ourselves.
