EVIDENCE BY THE GREEK AMBASSADOR ON THE GREEK PRESIDENCY AND BY THE MINISTER FOR EUROPE, FOREIGN AND COMMONWEALTH OFFICE, ON THE COPENHAGEN EUROPEAN COUNCIL

1.  In recent years it has been our practice to take evidence regularly, normally after the six-monthly meetings of the European Council, from the Minister for Europe at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office; and from the Ambassador of each incoming presidency country.

2.  Accordingly, in this Report we make available, for the information of the House, the oral evidence given to us by His Excellency Mr Alexandros Sandis, Ambassador of Greece, and Denis MacShane MP, Minister for Europe respectively on the Greek Presidency and on the outcome of the Copenhagen European Council held on 12 and 13 December 2002.
