Select Committee on Delegated Powers and Regulatory Reform Twenty-Eighth Report

18.  The Committee reported on this bill in our 12th and 23rd Reports of this Session (HL Papers 63 and 144). When the bill was still in the Commons, the Committee took the opportunity to consider certain Government amendments concerning regulations to impose a duty on sewerage undertakers to adopt private sewers. The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs provided a supplementary memorandum which is printed at Annex 2 to this Report. The Committee considered the proposed amendments at a meeting on 5 November.

19.  The Commons amendments were before the House on Thursday 13 November. A letter, dated 12 November, from the Clerk to the bill team leader set out the views of the Committee on the proposed amendments. A copy of the letter was made available to members of the House on the day of Lords consideration of the amendments and, for completeness, is also printed at Annex 2 to this Report.
