Regina v. Daventry District Council (Respondents) and others ex parte Thornby Farms Limited (Petitioners)—That the petition be referred for hearing.

2. Appeal Committee—The following Orders were made pursuant to the 103rd Report:

North Range Shipping Limited (Petitioners) v. Seatrans Shipping Corporation (Respondents)—That leave to appeal be refused; that the respondents be at liberty to apply for their costs in accordance with direction 5.1(d) and, if the application is granted, that the amount thereof be certified by the Clerk of the Parliaments if not agreed between the parties.

Department for Social Development (Respondents) v. Walsh and another (AP) (Petitioners) (Northern Ireland)—That leave to appeal be refused; that the costs of the petitioners be taxed in accordance with the Legal Aid, Advice and Assistance (Northern Ireland) Order 1981; and that the respondents be at liberty to apply for their costs in accordance with direction 5.1(c); and, if the application is granted, that the amount thereof be certified by the Clerk of the Parliaments if not agreed between the parties.

Handelsbanken (Norwegian branch of Svenska Handelsbanken AB (Publ) (Respondents) v. It was moved by the Earl Russell, in Clause 24, page 13, line 26, at end to insert:

“( ) The Secretary of State may not stop providing support under section 15 or 22 of this Act where—

(a) to stop providing such support would render the person or any dependant of his destitute within the meaning of section 17 of this Act or section 95 of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999 (c. 33) (provision of support), and

(b) 1the Secretary of State has not provided or arranged for the provision of support for the person under section 4 (accommodation for those temporarily admitted or released from detention) or section 95 of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999.”;

which being objected to, the question was put thereupon, and the House divided:
