Powers of entry and inspection
Persons authorised by the safety authority or the Secretary of State.     13. - (1) In section 11 of the Safety of Sports Grounds Act 1975 (powers of entry and inspection) omit the word "or" immediately preceding paragraph (d) and at the end of that paragraph insert or
 
 
    (e) where the local authority is in England or Wales, the Sports Ground Safety Authority,.
      (2) In section 35 of the Fire Safety and Safety of Places of Sport Act 1987 (powers of entry and inspection) omit the word "or" immediately preceding paragraph (c) and at the end of that paragraph insert or
 
 
    (d) where the local authority is in England or Wales, the Secretary of State or the Sports Ground Safety Authority,.
 
Interpretation and related consequential provision
Designated football matches and other definitions etc.     14. - (1) In this Part "designated football match" means-
 
 
    (a) a football match of a description for the time being designated for the purposes of this Part by order made by the Secretary of State; or
 
    (b) a particular football match so designated.
      (2) In this Part-
 
 
    "football match" means an association football match played in England or Wales;
 
    "safety" does not include safety from danger inherent in participation in a sporting or competitive activity;
 
    "the safety authority" shall be construed in accordance with section 1(1).
      (3) An order under subsection (1) may designate descriptions of football matches wherever played or when played at descriptions of ground or in any area specified in the order.
 
      (4) Any order under section 1(2) of the Football Spectators Act 1989 (designation of football matches for the purposes of Part I of that Act) in force immediately before the coming into force of subsection (1) shall, as from the coming into force of that subsection, have effect for the purposes of this Part as if it were an order made under that subsection.
 
      (5) In section 166 of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994 (which creates an offence in respect of the sale by unauthorised persons of tickets for designated football matches) in subsection (2), at the end of paragraph (c) (definition of designated football match) add "or is for the time being designated for the purposes of Part I of the Culture and Recreation Act 2001".
