  (i) Membership of the four largest global alliances
There are currently four large airline alliance groupings, of which two are genuinely global (Star and Oneworld) and a third (Wings) is about to become so. The four groupings are as follows:
Star Alliance:Air Canada, Lufthansa, SAS, Thai Airways, United Airlines and VARIG.
Oneworld Alliance[31]: American Airlines, British Airways, Canadian Airlines, Cathay Pacific and Qantas Airways.
Wings Alliance[32]: Alitalia, Continental, KLM, Northwest.
Transatlantic Alliance: Austrian, Delta, Sabena, Swissair and TAP.

  (ii) Airlines operating services on behalf of Lufthansa

The following airlines operate services on behalf of Lufthansa using Lufthansa's flight designator code:

       Air Littoral

       Air New Zealand

       Austrian Airlines
