1st

Dockyard Services (Rosyth) (Designation and Appointed Day) Order 1997 (S.I. 1997/151)

The Department very much regrets that due to an administrative oversight there was a delay in notifying the Lord Chancellor and the Speaker of the House of Commons that this instrument came into force before it was laid.

2nd

Reserve Forces Act 1996 (Transitional Consequential and Savings Provisions) Regulations 1997 (S.I. 1997/306)

The Department is awaiting the opportunity to act on comments and amend.

The Department is awaiting the opportunity to act on comments and amend. There is still no likelihood in the near future of any person being subject to section 9 of the Army Act 1955 and thus being affected by the error in regulation 23 identified by the Committee.

3rd

Reserve Forces Appeals Tribunal Rule 1997 (S.I. 1997/798)

i

F

The Department has been unable to review how the Rules work in practice as no appeals have been made. Call-out has to date been strictly limited to volunteers whose employers had clearly signified assent. Until call-out is widespread and compulsory, we believe that appeals will be infrequent.
