Chairman: On behalf of my co-Chairman, David Amess, and
myself, I thank hon. Gentlemen for their kind words, and I echo their
kind and appreciative words about the Clerks, the police, the
Hansard writers and all those who have facilitated the
Committee’s
proceedings. This is
an opportunity for the Chairman to get his own back. Members may be
aware that under Standing Orders the Chairman has discretion to
continue the proceedings for 15 more minutes, but, as we have all been
invited for tea and buns in the Tea Room, I shall not impose that on
Members. Question
