The Budget Statement will take place on Wednesday 9 April 2003.

Cross-cutting questions in Westminster Hall

A cross-cutting session on older people will take place on Thursday 27th March 2003 from 2.30 - 3.30 pm, and a session on urban renewal on Thursday 10th April from 2.30-3.30pm

Ministerial Resignations

Robin Cook MP has resigned at Leader of the House of Commons John Denham has resigned as Home Office minister with responsibility for crime prevention and policing Lord Hunt has resigned as Health minister (Lords)

The committee will meet on 3 April 2003 to consider the role of Government Offices in the Regions (GOs)

The Leader of the House has announced the Commons calendar for the next year:

Easter Recess

The House will rise for the Easter recess and constituency week on Monday 14 April 2003 and return on Monday 28 April 2003

Whitsun Recess

The House will rise for the Whitsun recess on Thursday 22 May 2003 and return on Tuesday 3 June 2003

Summer Recess

The House will rise for the Summer recess on Thursday 17 July 2003 and return on Monday 8 September 2003

Conference Recess

The House will rise for the conference recess on Thursday 18 September 2003 and return on Tuesday 14 October 2003 These dates are subject to the progress of business

House of Lords calendar

The provisional dates of House of Lords recesses are:

Easter Recess

The House will rise on Thursday 10 April 2003 and return on Monday 28 April 2003

Whitsun Recess

The House will rise on Thursday 22 May 2003 and return on Tuesday 3 June 2003

Summer Recess

Should begin not later than the middle of July, the House will sit for two weeks in September (subject to progress of business Monday 8th - Thurs 18th September 2003). House rising and returning dates to be announced.

Private Members Bills in 2002/03

The dates for readings of Private Members Bills in 2002/03 are: 31 January; 7 and 28 February; 7,14, 21, and 28 March; 4 April; 16 May; 13 and 20 June; 4 and 11 July
