Primary Legislation

Northern Ireland Assembly Bills dealing with exempted or reserved matters (under section 15 of the Northern Ireland Act 1998) are required to be laid before Parliament for a period of 20 days before being presented for Royal Assent. If a motion disapproving of the Bill is tabled in either House, it shall not be presented for Royal Assent. The date of any such motion will be shown below.

Delegated Legislation

Proposals for Orders dealing with exempted or reserved matters (under section 85 of the Northern Ireland Act 1998) must be laid for a period of 60 days to allow for consultation. Subsequent draft Orders must be approved by Parliament. Draft Orders (under section 84 of the Northern Ireland Act 1998) require approval of both Houses. Dates of consideration of draft Orders and any proposals are shown below.
