Select Committee on Transport, Local Government and the Regions Appendices to the Minutes of Evidence

Letter from the Secretary of State to the Chairman of the Sub-committee (LU 12B)

When I gave evidence to the Transport, Local Government and the Regions Select Committee on Wednesday 5 December, I explained that I have taken on Ernst & Young to carry out a review of London Underground's value for money evaluation of the bids for the Tube modernisation plans. Ernst & Young have been asked to focus in particular on the robustness of the conclusions reached by London Underground.

I said that I would write to tell you how much Ernst &Young's review is likely to cost. Our current estimate is that the total cost will be in the region of £400,000 including VAT.
