Letter to Mr John Maxton MP from the Parliamentary
Commissioner for Standards
I wrote to you on 19 April 2001 asking for information
to enable me to decide whether further inquiries warranted. My
office contacted you on 27 April and 4 May 2001 to ask when I
would expect a reply but as you gave no information I reported
this to the Standards and Privileges Committee yesterday.
I am now writing to request an urgent reply to my
letter, at the latest by 10 am Monday next 14 May 2001. I should
tell you that if I receive no response from you I will have no
alternative but to investigate the complaint and report in due
course to the Standards and Privileges Committee.
I hope to hear from you shortly.
