The Committee deliberated.

Ombudsman Issues: Sir Michael Buckley, Parliamentary Commissioner for Administration and Mr Alan Watson, Deputy Parliamentary Commissioner for Administration, was examined.

The Committee further deliberated.

Resolved, That the Committee do visit the Netherlands in June 2002 in connection with its inquiry into Public Service Reform.- (The Chairman.)

Resolved, That the Committee do visit Australia and New Zealand in March 2003 in connection with its inquiry Public Service Reform and Public Service Targets.- (The Chairman.)

Ordered, That the Chairman do seek the approval of the Liaison Committee for expenditure in connection with the said visits.

Resolved, That the Committee do take evidence from Barbara Roche, a Member of the House and Christopher Leslie, a Member of the House.- (The Chairman.)

Resolved, That the Committee do take evidence from Rt Hon. John Prescott, a Member of the House, Deputy Prime Minister, Geoff Mulgan, Professor Michael Barber and Dr Wendy Thomson.-(The Chairman.)  

Resolved, That the Committee do inquire into league tables and performance measures in connection with the inquiry into Public Service Reform.- (The Chairman.)
