The Committee deliberated.

Mr Brian Glicksman, Treasury Officer of Accounts, was further examined.

Part 3 of the Comptroller and Auditor General's Report on the Department of Social Security Resource Account 2000-01 (HC 491) was considered.

Ms Rachel Lomax, Permanent Secretary, and Mr John Codling, Principal Finance Officer, Department for Work and Pensions; and Ms Alexis Cleveland, Chief Executive, Benefits Agency, were examined (HC 595-i).

The witnesses withdrew.

The Committee further deliberated.

Postponed paragraph 4 read and agreed to.

Resolved, That the Report be the Fifty-fifth Report of the Committee to the House.

Ordered, That the Chairman do make the Report to the House.

Ordered, That the provisions of Standing Order No. 134 (Select Committees (Reports)) be applied to the Report.
