The Committee deliberated.

Mr Brian Glicksman, Treasury Officer of Accounts, was further examined.

The Comptroller and Auditor General's Report on Winding-up The New Millennium Experience Company Limited (HC 749) was considered.

Ms Sue Street, Permanent Secretary, Department for Culture, Media and Sport; Mr Mike O'Connor CBE, Director, The Millennium Commission; and Mr David James CBE, Former Executive Chairman, The New Millennium Experience Company Limited, were examined (HC 820-i).

The witnesses withdrew.

The Committee further deliberated.

Draft Report (Policy Development: Improving Air Quality), proposed by the Chairman, brought up and read.

Ordered, That the draft Report be read a second time, paragraph by paragraph.

Paragraphs 1 to 3 read and agreed to.

Paragraph 4 postponed.

Paragraphs 5 to 33 read and agreed to.

Postponed paragraph 4 read and agreed to.

Resolved, That the Report, as amended, be the Thirty-fourth Report of the Committee to the House.

Ordered, That the Chairman do make the Report to the House.

Ordered, That the provisions of Standing Order No. 134 (Select Committees (Reports)) be applied to the Report.

Another draft Report (Losses to the Revenue from Frauds on Alcohol Duty), proposed by the Chairman, brought up and read.

Ordered, That the draft Report be read a second time, paragraph by paragraph.
