The Committee deliberated.

Animal Testing and Cosmetic Products: Miss Melanie Johnson, a Member of the House, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Competition, Consumers and Markets; Patience Wilson, Director Consumer Strategy and Elaine Drage, Director, Trade Policy 2, Department of Trade and Industry, were examined.

European Arrest Warrant: Mr Bob Ainsworth, a Member of the House, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State (Anti-Drugs, Co-ordination and Organised Crime); Fenella Tayler, Extradition Bill Team and Lesley Pallett, Head of the European and International Unit, Home Office, were examined.

Draft Report, proposed by the Chairman, brought up and read.

Ordered, That the draft Report be read a second time, paragraph by paragraph.

Paragraphs 1.1 to 14 read and agreed to.

Resolved, That the Report be the Eleventh Report of the Committee to the House.

Ordered, That the Chairman do make the Report to the House.

Resolved, That the Committee visit Brussels from 25 to 27 February 2002 in connection with its inquiry into democracy and accountability in the EU and the role of national parliaments.— (The Chairman).

Ordered, That the Chairman do seek the approval of the Liaison Committee for expenditure in connection with the said visit.
