The Committee deliberated.
Draft Report, proposed by the Chairman, brought up and read.
Ordered, That the draft Report be read a second time, paragraph
Mr William Cash declared a non-pecuniary interest in relation
to paragraph 2 (Mutual recognition of decisions on parental responsibility)
and paragraph 10 (Mutual recognition of decisions on parental
responsibility) namely a case before the High Court involving
a family member.
Paragraphs 1.1 to 15 read and agreed to.
Resolved, That the Report be the Twenty-first Report of
the Committee to the House.
Ordered, That the Chairman do make the Report to the House.
Ordered, That Jim Dobbin and the Clerk do visit Brussels
on 19 and 20 March to attend the meeting of the European Parliament's
Committee on Legal Affairs and the Internal Market in a representative
capacity. (The Chairman.)
Resolved, That the Committee do visit Copenhagen and Warsaw
from 16 to 20 June 2002. (The Chairman.)
Ordered, That the Chairman do seek the approval of the
Liaison Committee for expenditure in connection with the said
[Adjourned till Monday 18 March at Eleven o'clock in Edinburgh.
