ELECTORAL FRAUD (NORTHERN IRELAND) BILL

RESOLUTION OF THE PROGRAMMING SUB-COMMITTEE

          The Programming Sub-Committee appointed by the Speaker in respect of the Bill agreed the following Resolution at its meeting on Monday 16th July (Sessional Order C relating to Programming):

       That—

    (1)   during proceedings on the Electoral Fraud (Northern Ireland) Bill the Committee shall, in addition to the first sitting on Tuesday 16th October at half-past Ten o'clock, meet on that day at half-past Four o'clock and on Thursday 18th October at half-past Nine o'clock and half-past Four o'clock;

    (2)   the proceedings on the Bill in the Standing Committee shall (so far as not previously concluded) be brought to a conclusion on Thursday 18th October at Seven o'clock.

Mr Desmond Browne has given notice of his intention to move a motion in the terms of the resolution of the Programming Sub-Committee [Sessional Order C(9) relating to Programming (28th June)].

As an Amendment to Mr Desmond Browne's proposed Motion:

    '(1A)   In section 4 (Entitlement to be registered as parliamentary or local government elector), at the end of subsection (1), there is inserted—
"Provided that no person shall register as an elector in more than one parliamentary constituency."

    (1B)   In section 4 (Entitlement to be registered as parliamentary or local government elector), at the end of subsection (3), there is inserted—
"Provided that no person shall register as an elector in more than one local government area.".'.
