Christmas recess: Subject to the progress of business, the House will rise on Thursday 21 December

and return on Monday 8 January

Information Office hours during the recess: Monday - Friday 10.00am - 5.00pm

House of Lords

Christmas recess: Subject to the progress of business, the House will rise on Thursday 21 December

and return on Monday 15 January

Information Office hours during the recess: Monday - Friday 10.00am - 1.00pm, 2.00pm - 4.00pm

The Information Office will be closed between 27 December - 8 January

Private Members' Bills' Fridays

Motion that 2nd and 9th February, 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th March, 6th and 27th April, 11th and 18th May,

8th and 15th June and 20th July 2001 shall have precedence over Government business - To be agreed

Non-sitting Fridays

12th and 19th January, 16th February, 2nd March, 4th May, 22nd and 29th June, 6th and 13th July

and 19th October 2001.

Westminster Hall

Following the decision of the House on 20 November, adjournment debates in Westminster Hall will now take place between 9.30 a.m. and 2.00 p.m. on both Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Subject to the discretion of the Speaker, Tuesday debates will begin with three 1 hour debates which will be followed by three half an hour debates, and Wednesday debates will begin with two 11/2 hour debates which will be followed by three half an hour debates. The 11/2 hour and the 1 hour debates are intended for general issues to which a number of Members may wish to contribute.
