Select Committee on Environment, Transport and Regional Affairs Appendices to the Minutes of Evidence

APPENDICES TO THE MINUTES OF EVIDENCE TAKEN BEFORE THE ENVIRONMENT SUB-COMMITTEE OF THE ENVIRONMENT, TRANSPORT AND REGIONAL AFFAIRS COMMITTEE

Supplementary Memorandum by Dave King (DWB 02 (a))

The suggestion that Park Home Owners should be able to see The Park Owners information as to their bills.

Water Resale 7.7 & 7.8 this all sounds very nice BUT as we are aware, (a) this will band residents as trouble makers on requesting this information, plus as most PARK OWNERS do not live on the Park, all sorts of excuses will be given in an endeavour to evade the issue. See copy letter attached marked exhibit (A) from Our Park Owner. [1]

The possibility of the charges being based on The Council Tax, or The Old Rateable Value does seem to be more realistic, (under the Park Owners accounts system we would be paying for Water Leaks, which due to lack of maintenance occur very often!)

I have enclosed our latest account for the coming year, whereby his charges are well off beam. [2]

I write this morning after telephoning Folkestone & Dover Water Services. Also Southern Water Services, and at the suggestion of Southern Water, who kindly gave me OFWAT local call rate telephone number.

Neither of these at this stage, (today's date) have their charges out, but they all inform that the maximum increase can only be one per cent above the rate of inflation.

Copy of Park Owners letter of increase notification also attached marked (b). [3]

This letter has been sent to you at the suggestion of the Utilities concerned.

This does now appear that this is our last chance to get the situation resolved.

Thanking you for your time in reading this.

Dave King
