TO

Transfer the Crystal Palace and Park to the Greater London Authority; to restrict commercial uses of the said land; and for connected purposes.

WHEREAS the Crystal Palace and Park is a site of national symbolism and significance and an important recreational resource for all Londoners, which passed into the control of the London Borough of Bromley by an order made under the Local Government Act 1985, which abolished the Greater London Council:

And whereas the Greater London Authority Act 1999 established the Greater London Authority, which has as its principal purposes the promotion of economic development and wealth creation, social development and the improvement of the environment in Greater London:

And whereas the imprecise nature of the undertakings given to Parliament by the promoters of the Bromley London Borough (Crystal Palace) Act 1990 has obstructed further progress towards the redevelopment of the Crystal Palace and Park site as provided for under that Act:

Be it therefore enacted by the Queen's most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:-
