Seniority of authorised officers

To move the following Clause—

    '—(1)   Subject to subsection (2), an authorised officer allowed to undertake investigative work under this Act shall hold the rank of higher executive officer or above in the relevant department.

    (2)   An authorised officer obtaining information under this Act from any person providing a telecommunications service shall hold such office, rank or position, and shall be subject to such restrictions, as are prescribed by orders made under section 25 of the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000.'.

To move the following Clause:—

    '(1)   Any individual subject to an inquiry under this Act shall be entitled to have acces to all relevant information pertaining to that person which is held by the relevant agencies or bodies, except in respect of information which is the subject of a pending prosecution.

    (2)   Any reasonable request for information made in accordance with subsection (1) shall be delivered in writing to the person making the request within 21 working days.'.


ORDER OF THE COMMITTEE (3RD APRIL)

       That—

    (1)   during proceedings on the Social Security Fraud Bill the Standing Committee do meet on Tuesday 3rd April at half-past Ten o'clock, on Thursday 5th April at five minutes to Ten o'clock, and on Monday 9th April between half-past Four o'clock and Seven o'clock;

    (2)   the proceedings on the Bill shall (so far as not previously concluded) be brought to a conclusion on Monday 9th April at Seven o'clock.
