1Food Standards Bill,—Mr Nicholas Brown, supported by the Prime Minister, Mr Secretary Prescott, Mr Chancellor of the Exchequer, Mr Secretary Reid, Mr Secretary Dobson, Secretary Marjorie Mowlam and Mr Secretary Michael presented a Bill to establish the Food Standards Agency and make provision as to its functions, to amend the law relating to food safety and other interests of consumers in relation to food; to enable provision to be made in relation to the notification of tests for food-borne diseases; to enable provision to be made in relation to animal feedingstuffs; and for connected purposes: And the same was read the first time; and ordered to be read a second time to-morrow and to be printed [Bill 117].
 
        Ordered, that the Explanatory Notes relating to the Food Standards Bill be printed [Bill 117-EN].
2Royal Parks (Trading) Bill,—Mr Peter Brooke presented a Bill to make provision about certain offences under section 2 of the Parks Regulation (Amendment) Act 1926: And the same was read the first time; and ordered to be read a second time to-morrow and to be printed [Bill 116].
 
        Ordered, that the Explanatory Notes relating to the Royal Parks (Trading) Bill be printed [Bill 116-EN].
3Adjournment (Defence in the World),—A Motion was made, and the Question being proposed, That this House do now adjourn—(Mr Mike Hall);
 
        The Motion was, with the leave of the House, withdrawn.
4Committee of Public Accounts,—Ordered, That Mr Derek Twigg be discharged from the Committee of Public Accounts and Mr Barry Gardiner be added to the Committee.—(Mr David Jamieson.)
5Select Committee on Public Administration,—Ordered, That Dr Lynda Clark, Mr Fraser Kemp and Mr Rhodri Morgan be discharged from the Select Committee on Public Administration and Mr Desmond Browne, Mr Brian White and Dr Tony Wright be added to the Committee.—(Mr David Jamieson.)
6Adjournment,—A Motion was made, and the Question being proposed, That this House do now adjourn—(Mr David Jamieson).
