        The Lords have agreed to the Consolidated Fund Bill, without Amendment.
2Standing Orders,—Ordered, That the Standing Orders relating to Public Business, as amended, be printed [No. 7].
3Royal Assent,—The Speaker notified the House, in accordance with the Royal Assent Act 1967, That Her Majesty had signified her Royal Assent to the following Act, agreed upon by both Houses:
 
        Consolidated Fund (No. 2) Act 1998.
4Adjournment (Iraq),—A Motion was made, and the Question being proposed, That this House do now adjourn—(Mr David Jamieson);
 
        Mr Tony Benn rose in his place and claimed to move, That the Question be now put.
 
        And the Question being put, That the Question be now put:—It was agreed to.
 
        And the Question being accordingly put, That this House do now adjourn:—It was negatived.
5Public Petitions,—A Public Petition from persons opposing plans by West Hertfordshire Health Authority in relation to Hemel Hempstead General Hospital was presented and read; and ordered to lie upon the Table and to be printed.
6Adjournment,—A Motion was made, and the Question being proposed, That this House do now adjourn—(Mrs Anne McGuire);
 
        And the Motion having been made after Ten o'clock, and the Debate having continued for half an hour, the Deputy Speaker adjourned the House without Question put, pursuant to the Standing Order, it being then seventeen minutes to Eleven o'clock, till Monday 11th January, pursuant to Resolution [8th December].
