2    Eighth Standing Committee on Delegated Legislation,—Mr Mike Hancock reported from the Eighth Standing Committee on Delegated Legislation the draft Financial Assistance Scheme (Appeals) Regulations 2005 and the draft Financial Assistance Scheme (Modifications and Miscellaneous Amendments) Regulations 2005.

3    European Standing Committee,—Mr Bill Olner reported from a European Standing Committee the following Resolution:

    That the Committee takes note of European Union Document No. 11413/05, Commission Communication: 'Draft Joint Declaration by the Council, the European Parliament and the Commission on the European Union Development Policy'; and supports the Government's view that poverty eradication must remain the overarching objective and that the document clarifies the role and added value of the European Community.
