2    Fourth Standing Committee on Delegated Legislation,-Mr George Stevenson reported from the Fourth Standing Committee on Delegated Legislation the Farm Waste Grant (Nitrate Vulnerable Zones) (England) Scheme 2003 (S.I., 2003, No. 562).

3    Fifth Standing Committee on Delegated Legislation,-Mr James Cran reported from the Fifth Standing Committee on Delegated Legislation the draft Local Elections (Northern Ireland) Amendment Order 2003.

4    Seventh Standing Committee on Delegated Legislation,-Mr Peter Pike reported from the Seventh Standing Committee on Delegated Legislation the draft Terrorism Act 2000 (Code of Practice on Video Recording of Interviews) (Northern Ireland) Order 2003.

5    Standing Committee on Regional Affairs,-Mr Alan Hurst reported from the Standing Committee on Regional Affairs, That it had considered the matter of progress in developing the role of the Government Offices in the Regions (GOs), referred to it on 10th March.

6    Message from the Lords,-A Message was brought from the Lords, as follows:

    The Lords agree, without Amendment, to certain of the Amendments made by this House to the Police (Northern Ireland) Bill [Lords]; and they agree to the remaining Amendments with Amendments, to which they desire the concurrence of this House.

7    Police (Northern Ireland) Bill [Lords],-Lords Amendments to Commons Amendments to the Police (Northern Ireland) Bill [Lords] to be considered to-morrow and to be printed [Bill 88].

8    Road and Street Works (Notice and Compensation) Bill,-Keith Vaz, supported by David Taylor, presented a Bill to require highway authorities, street authorities and statutory undertakers to give notice to residents and businesses of road and street works; to provide for compensation if a notice is not issued; and for connected purposes: And the same was read the first time; and ordered to be read a second time on Friday 20th June and to be printed [Bill 87].

9    Northern Ireland,-A Motion was made, and the Question being put forthwith, pursuant to Standing Order No. 118 (Standing Committees on Delegated Legislation), That the draft Criminal Justice (Northern Ireland) Order 2003, which was laid before this House on 24th March, be approved-(Dan Norris):-It was agreed to.

10    Adjournment (Matters to be considered before the forthcoming adjournment),-A Motion was made, and the Question being proposed, That this House do now adjourn-(Dan Norris);

    And it being Six o'clock, the Motion for the adjournment of the House lapsed, without Question put.

11    Public Petitions,-Public Petitions from-

    (1) readers of 'Doctor' magazine and others for the withdrawal of comments by the Prime Minister on 3rd July 2002 on a move away from single-handed General Practitioners; and

    (2) Mrs Irene Haylock, Ashleigh Sharp, Jessica Arnold, members of the Benfleet Hard of Hearing Club and others for amendments to the Communications Bill to end exclusion of hearing-impaired persons from digital television, radio and telephone services;

    were presented and read; and ordered to lie upon the Table and to be printed.

12    Adjournment,-A Motion was made, and the Question being proposed, That this House do now adjourn-(Joan Ryan);

    And the Motion having been made after Six o'clock, and the Debate having continued for half an hour, the Deputy Speaker adjourned the House, without Question put, pursuant to the Standing Order, it being then twenty-seven minutes to Seven o'clock, till to-morrow.

    2    Local Government Finance (England) Special Grant Report (No. 117) (House of Commons Paper No. 537) on 2003-04 Special Grant for Driving Local Authority Planning Performance,-The Speaker has appointed Mr Nigel Beard Chairman of the First Standing Committee on Delegated Legislation in respect of the Report.

    3    Draft Northern Ireland Act 2000 (Modification) Order 2003,-The Speaker has appointed Mr Peter Pike Chairman of the Second Standing Committee on Delegated Legislation in respect of the draft Order.
