4Mersey Tunnels Bill,—The Order of the day being read, for the Second Reading of the Mersey Tunnels Bill;

5City of Newcastle upon Tyne Bill [Lords],—The Second Deputy Chairman of Ways and Means reported from the Committee on Unopposed Bills, That it had examined the allegations contained in the Preamble to the City of Newcastle upon Tyne Bill [Lords] and found the same to be true; and had gone through the Bill and directed him to report the same without Amendment.
 
        Bill to be read the third time.
6Northern Ireland Grand Committee,—Mr John McWilliam reported from the Northern Ireland Grand Committee, that it had considered the draft Appropriation (Northern Ireland) Order 2000, referred to it on 1st March 2000, and had directed him to report accordingly to the House.

7First Standing Committee on Delegated Legislation,—Mr Jonathan Sayeed reported from the First Standing Committee on Delegated Legislation the draft Milk Development Council (Amendment) Order 2000.

8Misuse of Drugs (Amendment) Bill,—Paul Flynn, supported by Mr Gordon Prentice and Mr Austin Mitchell, presented a Bill to allow the production, supply, possession and use of cannabis and cannabis resin for medicinal purposes: And the same was read the first time; and ordered to be read a second time on Friday 9th June and to be printed [Bill 85].
9Royal Parks (Trading) Bill,—The Order of the day being read, for the Second Reading of the Royal Parks (Trading) Bill;
 
        And a Motion being made, and the Question being put forwith, pursuant to Standing Order No. 90 (Second reading committees), That the bill be now read a second time:—It was agreed to.
 
        The Bill was accordingly read a second time and stood committed to a Standing Committee.
10Race Relations (Amendment) Bill [Lords],—The Order of the day being read, for the second reading of the the Race Relations (Amendment) Bill [Lords];
 
        A Motion was made, and the Question being proposed, That the Race Relations (Amendment) Bill [Lords] be now read a second time.
11Royal Assent,—The Deputy Speaker notified the House, in accordance with the Royal Assent Act 1967, That Her Majesty had signified Her Royal Assent to the following Acts, agreed upon by both Houses:
 
        Representation of the People Act 2000
 
        Transport Salaried Staffs' Association (Amendment of Rules) Act 2000.
12Race Relations (Amendment) Bill [Lords],—The Question being again proposed, That the Race Relations (Amendment) Bill [Lords] be read a second time;
 
        Question put and agreed to.
 
        The Bill was accordingly read a second time and stood committed to a Standing Committee.
13Race Relations (Amendment) Bill [Lords] [Money],—Her Majesty's Recommendation having been signified to the proposed Motion relating to Race Relations (Amendment) Bill [Lords] [Money];
 
        A Motion was made, and the Question being put forthwith, pursuant to Standing Order No. 52 (Money resolutions and way and means resolutions in connection with bills), That, for the purposes of any Act resulting from the Race Relations (Amendment) Bill [Lords], it is expedient to authorise the payment out of money provided by Parliament of—
 
          (a) any increase in expenditure of a Minister of the Crown, government department or other public authority which is attributable to complying with any provision made by virtue of the Act; and
 
          (b) any other increase attributable to the Act in the sums which are payable by virtue of any other Act out of money so provided—(Mr Tony McNulty):—It was agreed to.
14Education,—A Motion was made, and the Question being put forthwith, pursuant to Standing Order No. 118 (Standing Committees on Delegated Legislation), That the draft Education (Student Loans) (Repayment) Regulations 2000, which were laid before this House on 17th February, be approved—(Mr Tony McNulty):—It was agree to.
15Pensions,—A Motion was made, and the Question being put forthwith, pursuant to Standing Order No. 118 (Standing Committees on Delegated Legislation), That the draft Occupational and Personal Pensions Schemes (Penalties) Regulations 2000, which were laid before this House on 22nd February, be approved—(Mr Tony McNulty):—It was agreed to.
