Mr Eddie McGrady (South Down): What assessment he has made of the adequacy of the policing budget for Northern Ireland in 2008-09; and if he will make a statement.

Mrs Iris Robinson (Strangford): What steps he plans to take to ensure that the Police Service of Northern Ireland has sufficient resources to combat the threat from dissident Republican terrorist organisations.

   That the Committee has considered the matter of organised crime in Northern Ireland.
   The Third Report from the Northern Ireland Affairs Committee, Session 2005-06, on Organised Crime in Northern Ireland, HC 886-I, and the Government’s response thereto, HC 1642, Session 2005-06, are relevant to the debate.
Debate may continue for two and a half hours (Order of 6th November).
   On the Motion for the adjournment of the Committee under Standing Order No. 116(5) David Simpson proposes to raise the subject of policing in Northern Ireland.
Debate may continue for half an hour (Standing Order No. 116(5)).
